ABOUT
AMOS Agrimin began on a farm near Memel in 1993. Hennie and Janetta Viljoen wanted to see people on farms follow Jesus in everyday life. That purpose still guides the ministry, from conversations around the Bible to the responsibilities of running a farm.
Today, AMOS serves agricultural communities through Christian teaching, prayer and mentoring. Our resources bring faith into matters that people face at work and at home, including relationships, money and the care of the land. We work with others who share this calling in Africa.
Much of this work starts with everyday conversations. A Bible study with a family or small group can open up questions about leadership, work and how people treat one another. AMOS provides resources and encouragement to help people keep learning and put biblical teaching into practice in their own circumstances.
We want to see the Kingdom of God become visible in the farming community. That is why AMOS Agrimin’s core business is the transformation of farming communities in Africa through the restoration and building of relationships with God, people and creation.
These three relationships belong together. When farmers walk with God, it shows in how they treat the people who live and work on the farm, and in how they care for the soil, water and animals entrusted to them. Where one relationship is broken, the others suffer too.
AMOS helps farming communities restore what is broken and build what is missing, through biblical teaching, prayer and mentoring. This is what we mean by living and farming God’s way.
Living and farming God’s way means allowing our relationship with Jesus to shape how we farm and how we treat people. We long to see agricultural communities honour God, care for one another and use the land responsibly, so that God’s Kingdom becomes visible where they live and work.
That vision reaches into the ordinary choices made on a farm: how an employer speaks to a worker, how a disagreement is handled, and how the land is cared for. We want people to grow in faith and take responsibility for the effect their decisions have on others.
As families and communities follow Jesus together, they can encourage one another and pass on what they learn.
We help people in agriculture follow Jesus through biblical teaching and personal discipleship. This includes encouraging farmers and workers to put what they learn into practice, and equipping them to share their faith with the people around them.
We support this through Christian teaching, prayer, mentoring and resources that can be used by individuals, families and small groups. The aim is to help people understand Scripture, consider what it means for their own responsibilities, and take practical steps to live it out.
We also encourage people to share what they have learned and support others in their walk with Jesus.

Our vision
We long to see God’s Kingdom become visible in farming communities as people follow Jesus, care for one another and use the land responsibly. Faith should shape daily decisions, working relationships and the way people serve their families and neighbours.
Our mission
We help farmers and workers follow Jesus and restore their relationships with God, people and creation through biblical teaching, prayer and personal discipleship. Our resources encourage people to put faith into practice at work and at home, and share it with others.
Faith in everyday
farming
The decisions made on a farm affect many lives. How we lead, settle disagreements and care for the soil shows our relationship with God, with people and with creation. AMOS helps farming communities consider these responsibilities in the light of Scripture and take practical steps to live out their faith.
